Eddie Watkins

Mr. Eddie J. Watkins, age 89, of Kenton, Tennessee, passed away from this life on March 18, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital of Union City. Funeral services for Mr. Watkins will be conducted on Wednesday, March 21, at 11:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Kenton with Dr. Brian Robertson officiating. Interment will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery of Kenton. Mr. Watkins was born October 14, 1922, in Obion County; the son of the late Eddie Lee and Ethel White Watkins. He worked as a fork lift operator for Campbell’s Company. He served his country with the US Army during World War II. Military honors will be observed. Mr. Watkins is survived by his spouse, Claudean Crews Watkins; one daughter, Beverly Lukacs; one grandson, Michael Edward Lukacs and wife Gina. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Willie B. Watkins, and two sisters, Margie Turner and Ruth Crowell. The family will receive friends from 5-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20 at Karnes & Son Funeral Home of Kenton. We are honored to serve the family of Mr. Eddie Watkins.
