Derek Michael Record

Derek Michael Record, age 21 of Rutherford, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Monday, April 18, 2022, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services for Derek will be conducted on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at 2:00pm in the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Bryan Morris and Bro. Joey Hayes officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford Cemetery.

He was born September 10, 2000, in Jackson, TN; the son of Wilda Sims Record. He was a student studying at the University of Tennessee – Martin, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture with concentration in plant and soil science,  and member of New Hope Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving mother, Wilda Record; three brothers, William Michael Record (Mallory), Michael Dale Record (Taylor), Jeffrey Michael Record; and one uncle, Johnny C. Sims.

Pallbearers will be William Record, Dale Record, Jeffrey Record, Patrick Spencer, Eugene Stephens, Will Minton, Sullie Minton, Carson Spencer, Landon Spencer, William Sims, Jay Mackin, Dennis Simpson, Brannon Motes.

The family will receive friends from 5:00pm – 8:00pm on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Derek Michael Record.
