Daniel Duffer

Mr. Daniel Wallace Duffer, age 93 of Rutherford, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Sunday, August 18, 2013, at home. Funeral services for Mr. Wallace will be conducted on Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Marlon Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Kenton, Tennessee. He was born October 8, 1919, in Rutherford, Tennessee; the son of the late Thommie and Mary Ann Duffer. He was retired from United Shoe Machinery. He served his country with the US Army and was a World War II veteran. He is survived by a daughter, Cherry Markovich; lifelong caregivers and friends, Wanda and W.C. Tate; special friend, Steven Tate and family; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Duffer; son, Douglas Harold Duffer; brothers, Thomas Duffer, Harold Loyd Duffer; and sisters, Hazel Glascock, Marie Wilson, Trella Sibel, Eula May Beck, Martha Evelyn Dobrez, and Mary Ruth Ystrom. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2013. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Daniel Wallace Duffer.
