Mr. Clyde Edward Hood, Sr., age 91, of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on July 9, 2014, at the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Humboldt. Funeral services for Mr. Hood will be conducted on Friday, July 11, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home of Dyer with Bro. Thomas Bullock officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery of Dyer, Tennessee.
Mr. Hood was born August 4, 1922, in Richmond, Tennessee; the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Brison Coleman and Bernise Wells Hood. Mr. Hood retired from work as a government meat inspector. He served his country with the US Army in World War II receiving a Bronze Star. Military honors will be observed.
Mr. Hood is survived by his wife, Lela Hood; daughter, Martha Ann Hood; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Clyde Edward Hood, Jr. and his parents.
