Clarence Wilburn Davidson

Clarence Wilburn Davidson, age 88 of Rutherford, Tennessee, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on February 6, 2021, at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Davidson will be conducted on Monday, February 8, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the New Bethlehem Baptist Church with Bro. Joe Williamson, Bro. John Coleman, and Bro. Marlon Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in New Bethlehem Cemetery.

Mr. Davidson was born on January 5, 1933 in Mason Hall to William Roy and Sula Cannon Davidson. He attended Rutherford School. In 1956 he enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country for 2 years. He was then employed by Kellwood where he worked until his retirement in 1999.

He enjoyed coaching baseball, spending his days at the lake, and working in his garden. He spent his best days singing with his close friends in many gospel quartets such as, the Bondsmen, Royal Echoes and The Singing Believers.

Mr. Davidson was a long-time member of Old Bethlehem Church where he was a deacon for many years. He was an active member of New Bethlehem Church in Dyer. He participated in the senior adults’ group, was a member of the choir, and was a Sunday School teacher.

Mr. Davidson is survived by his wife of 33 years, Eva Coday Davidson, 5 children: Mark Davidson (Alisa), Shad Davidson, Ava Finch (Lynn), Teresa Parnell (Greg), and Kenneth Coday; grandchildren: Brock Davidson (Krista), Jake Davidson (Kellie Jo), Nathan Elder (Sarah), Megan Fields (Josh), Ally Davidson, Aubrey Davidson, Courtney Gorton (Jason), Kristy Parnell Mallard, Christina Finch Gray, Jason Parnell (Chelsey), Coday Finch (Brandy), Sarah Kate Coday and Kyle Coday; great-grandchildren: Aiden Davidson, Avery Claire Davidson, Jaxson Davidson, Mila Davidson, Sophie Fields, Isabella Fields, Cash Elder, Dilynn Gorton, Katherine Gorton, Nolan Gray, FinLee Sanford, Sawyer Finch, Tyler Mosley, Kassidy Faulkner, Mackenzie Mallard, Alivia Mallard, Zander Parnell, Jaydan Parnell, and Lincoln Parnell. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Leroy and Dixie Davidson, and sisters Faye Walters and Brownie Jo McAlpine.

The family will receive friends from 11 AM until service time on Monday, February 8, 2021 at the church. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Clarence Wilburn Davidson.
