Mr. Charles Ray Johnson, age 76, of Kenton, Tennessee, passed away on January 10, 2013, at Dyersburg Regional Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Johnson will be conducted on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at New Concord Baptist Church of Kenton with Bro. Johnny Witherspoon and Bro. James Kensey officiating. Interment will follow in New Concord Cemetery of Kenton.
Mr. Johnson was born December 7, 1936, in Dyer, Tennessee; the son of the late Rudolph and Vida Johnson. He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1976, was a lifetime member of the Obion County VFW Lodge #11450, a Deacon of New Concord Baptist Church, and a Mason. Mr. Johnson had also served as Kenton Police Commission and was a retired Alderperson of Kenton.
Mr. Charles Johnson is survived by two sisters, Jane McCurdy and spouse Johnny and Judy McAlpin. He is also survived by special friend, Ms. Margaret Fossey along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
