Charles Dwayne Burkett

Mr. Charles Burkett, age 81 of Rutherford, TN, passed away from this life on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. He retired from the City of Rutherford Street Department and attended the Rutherford Church of Christ.

Mr. Burkett was proceeded in death by his parents, Jessie Burkett & wife Bessie (Griffin) Burkett; sister, Bobbie Riddings; and brother, Mike Burkett. He is survived by his loving wife, Faye Burkett of 60 years; son, Jeff (Judy) Burkett of Dyer; two granddaughters, Tanya Burkett of Rutherford, Leia Burkett of Dyer; and sister, Julia Bobbit of Bradford.

Visitation for Mr. Burkett will be held Thursday, October 31, 2024, beginning at 11AM at the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home, followed by funeral services beginning at 2PM. Burial will be at Rutherford Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Tony Stevenson, Tommy Huggins, Glyn Withworth, Bradley Skinner, Kenny Slaughter, and Paul Moore. Honorary pallbearers are Bruce Pate, Kim Kimbel, Carem Cupples, Johnny Bobbit, James Dean Bobbit, and Robbie Riddings.
