Carolyn Jane Martin

Carolyn Jane Martin, age 83 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Friday, March 3, 2021, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services for Mrs. Martin will be conducted on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at 4:00 pm in the chapel of Mt. Olive Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Bro. Joel Pigg and Bro. Charles Fike officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery.

She was born December 18, 1937 in Dyer, TN; the daughter of the late James & Ollie Stewart Poynor.  She retired after 40 years as a bank teller at the Security Bank in Trenton, TN, and was a member of Mt. Olive Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by son, Mark Martin (Cheryl); brother, Mr. David Poynor (Doris); grandchildren, Vanessa Jackson (Travis), Shane Powell, Emily Clark (Wesley); and great grandchildren, Chris Mills, Jason Mills, Ryan Goad, Lydia Clark, Zane Williams, and Luke Powell.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hulon; siblings, Alladine Poyner, Maxine Coffman, Julia Ann Phillips, Charles Edward Poynor, and Marlin Poynor.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Mt. Olive Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Carolyn Jane Martin.
