Bobby Cowan Wilson

Mr. Bobby Cowan Wilson, age 94 of Rutherford, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at his home. Funeral services for Mr. Wilson will be conducted on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at 10AM in the chapel of Rutherford First Baptist Church with Bro. Andy Mayfield officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford Cemetery with Rev. James Thomas Harris.

He was born May 21, 1929, in the Bells Chapel Community; the son of the late T.L. & Ruby Wilson. He retired from Kellwood, formerly Rutherford Garment, after 46 years of service. Bobby was a member of First Baptist Church Rutherford and served on the Rutherford School Board; Alderman of the Town of Rutherford; and Commissioner of Gibson County Utility District. He served his country with the US Army.

He is survived by a son, Robert F. Wilson (Deloris); grandson, Matthew T. Wilson (Jamie); great-granddaughters, Claire & Julia; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Evelyn (Fletcher) Wilson; brothers, Harry Wilson, Bill Wilson, Charles Wilson, Ray Wilson; and sisters, Freddie Green, Ailene Martin, and Maxine Owens.

The family will receive friends from 5PM-8PM on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Bobby Cowan Wilson.
