Billy Barron, my beloved husband, went to be with Jesus on Saturday afternoon, July 18, 2020. He was born on May 8, 1949 at the Dyer Clinic in Dyer.
He was a loving husband, father, and a friend to all. If he could help someone in need, he did. He loved to play golf and did so with the “Golden Boys” every chance he got.
He loved Cardinals baseball and watching the GC Pioneers play basketball. Not only did he serve the community in his 42 years practicing law, he was also the attorney for the City of Dyer and the Gibson County Special School District.
In our 49 years of marriage and 57 years together, we had many wonderful adventures traveling to 13 countries and all across the United States.
Our daughter Kelly remembers of her father, “During my daddy’s 71 years on this earth he spent a great many of them investing in and furthering his education. He graduated from Union University with a degree in history and continued to receive his degree of Juris Doctor from the University of Memphis on May 6, 1978. Thirty-two years later, still learning, Daddy received his Master of Arts in Military History from Norwich University on June 25, 2010.
“He received his license to practice law on September 13, 1978 and continued to do so until his last breath, 42 years later.
“On April 24, 1980, a new adventure began for us both when you and Momma adopted me. I’d never had a daddy, and you’d never had a baby. We weren’t perfect, but you were mine and I was yours. I will miss you every day, but I am at peace knowing that you finally received the peace that you craved for so long.
“We will love you forever.”
