Bettye Sue Cardwell

Mrs. Bettye Sue Cardwell, age 87 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Trenton Health & Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services for Mrs. Cardwell will be conducted on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at 2PM in the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Tony Smith and Bro. Dennis Emerson officiating. Interment will follow in Bells Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

She was born March 25, 1936, in Kenton, TN; the daughter of the late Floyd McIlwain & Mary (Needham) Eddlemon. Bettye was a member of Bells Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she was a song leader. She was a homemaker; loving mother, grandmother & great-grandmother.

Mrs. Cardwell is survived by two sons, Mike Cardwell (Julia), Keith Cardwell (Jan); four grandchildren, Brooke Carson (Jamie), Paige Hayes (Jeffery), Kylie Cardwell, KJ Cardwell; and four great-grandchildren, Jaxon Hayes, Tripp Hayes, Ellie Grace Carson, and Lizzie Kate Carson. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lindell Cardwell; and brother, Billy Eddlemon.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made in Bettye's honor to the Bells Chapel Cemetery Fund.

The family will receive friends from 10:30AM – 2PM on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Bettye Sue Cardwell.
