Bettye Carolyn Barton

Mrs. Bettye Carolyn Barton, age 90, of Union City, Tennessee, passed away on February 19, 2024. A Celebration of Life service for Mrs. Barton will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Karnes and Son Funeral Home in Rutherford. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. and go until service time.

Mrs. Bettye Carolyn Barton was born March 20, 1933, in Crockett County, Tennessee; to the late Doyle and Jessie (Blackburn) White. Mrs. Barton was a retired supervisor for Kellwood Manufacturing Company in Rutherford after serving 37 years of employment. She was a member of the Rutherford Church of Christ until she moved to Union City, TN, and then became a member of the Bishop Street Church of Christ. Mrs. Barton, and her husband Terry Joe, enjoyed traveling on their motorcycle, and enjoyed time with family and friends. 

Mrs. Bettye Carolyn Barton is survived by her daughter-in-law, Ruth Barton; two nieces, Darlene Horton, and Jana Ray; two grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and 2 great-greatgrandchildren. Mrs. Barton was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Joe Barton; son, Ron Barton; her parents, Doyle and Jessie White; and her sister, Emily Woods.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to be made in honor of Mrs. Bettye to the Rutherford Church of Christ.
