Betty Sims

Mrs. Betty Jean Sims, age 86 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed from this life on December 20, at her home. Funeral services for Mrs. Sims will be conducted on Thursday, December 22 at 10:00a.m. in the Rutherford Chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home with Bro. James Adams and Bro. Bill Rice officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford Cemetery in Rutherford. She was born December 5, 1930 in Gibson County; the daughter of the late Herman and Nellie Jackson Cavitt. She was a homemaker, and a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Johnny C. Sims (Betty), and Wilda Record; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Sullivan Sims, and daughter, Donna Fay Sims Morris. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00p.m. on Wednesday, December 21, at the Rutherford Chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home.
