Bennon Gant

Mr. Bennon Joe Gant, age 70, of Trenton, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on May 29, 2013, at his home. Funeral services for Mr. Gant will be conducted on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home of Rutherford with Bro. Eric McLamore and Bro. Randy Potts officiating. Interment will follow in China Grove Cemetery of Rutherford. Mr. Gant was born June 4, 1942, in Gibson County, Tennessee; the son of the late Barney D. and Stella B. Wallace Gant. He worked for Ford Motor Company in Dyersburg as a salesman. He was a member of China Grove Baptist Church and Sunday School Director. Mr. Gant served his country with the US Army. Military honors will be observed. Mr. Gant is survived by his wife, Wilbur Bawcum Gant; daughters, Deborah “Debbie” Carol Belew, Donna Jo Gant Gallimore, Rhonda Jo Gant; stepsons, Rodney and Roger Qualls; grandchildren, Corporal Jared Belew, Joanna Lee Gallimore, Bryan “Austin” Gallimore, Tonya Bethal, Tanner Qualls, Alex Qualls, Hannah Qualls, Megan Qualls, Amber Kail, Desiree Hensley, Adam Qualls, Jeremy Qualls; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lona Mae Sweat Norton and Martha Sue Palmer. He was preceded in death by son, Timothy Allen Gant, step-son, Randy Qualls; brother, Joe Gant; sister, Dorthy Roberts and his parents. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, May 31. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Bennon Joe Gant.
