Barbara Sue Mitchell

Barbara Sue Mitchell, age 73, gained her wings on Thursday, October 1, 2020 surrounded by her loved ones in her home. After a long battle with cancer she peacefully went to be with our Lord and Savior in heaven. Funeral Services for Mrs. Barbara will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2020 in Rutherford at Karnes and Son Funeral Home with Bro. Robbie Bickford officiating. Burial will be at the Rutherford Cemetery. Visitation will begin 1:00 pm, Sunday, October 4, 2020 until service time.

Barbara Sue Mitchell was born on December 7, 1946 in Parsons, Tennessee to the late Cleamon and Ola Mae Bawcum. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James Mitchell; two children, Keith Mitchell, Cindy Earls (Ben); two grandchildren, Mallory Harris (Tim), Haley Earls (Casey); one great grandchild, Brooks Harris; siblings, Catherine McLane (Joe), Wilbur Gant (Ben), Cletus Bawcum (Nancy), Shirley Bell (Eddie), Bobby Bawcum (Tracey), Kay Barron (Charles), Linda Taylor (Bobby); and a host of nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her parents and sister Betty Jean Gilliland. 

Barbara was a light to everyone around her. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, relaxing at the lake, loving on her sweet cat Shadow, and spending time with her family. She loved the Lord to her very core and inspired everyone around her.
