Audrey Workman

Mrs. Faye Workman, age 96, of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on March 9, 2012, at the Dyer Nursing Home. Funeral services for Mrs. Workman will be conducted on Sunday, March 11, at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home in Dyer with Bro. Don Barnett officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery of Dyer. Mrs. Workman was born October 29, 1915, the daughter of the late Roy Vernon and Mattie Nolen Hickman Patrick, in the Goodluck/Salem community, Faye lived in Rutherford, and Dyer has been her home for over 50 years. She was a loyal member of the Dyer First United Methodist Church where she served as President and Vice-President of the Mattie Bell Hayes Sunday School class while able. She retired from Kellwood Garment Factory after 27 years. She was a big sister to Harry Dean Workman (deceased at 9) and Margie Jones of Rutherford. Mrs. Workman was the loyal wife of Russell Lloyd Workman (deceased 1980) for over 45 years. She was an extraordinary mother to her six children who adored her: Billy Wayne Workman (Marie) deceased of Jackson, Harlan Louis Workman of Memphis, Freda Taylor Rogers (Ken) of Jackson, Kenneth Earl Workman (Nelda-deceased) of Dyer, Ronnie Dean Workman (Mary Jane) of Memphis, and Beverly Humphrey (Chuck) of Medina. Mrs. Workman loved her large family and enjoyed cooking for those family gatherings. She enjoyed her 6 children, 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and her great-great-granddaughter. Her loving grandchildren: Yvonne Shields of Dickson, Wayne Workman Jr. (Sherry) of Dickson, Steve Workman (Dona), Mark Workman and Candace Workman of Memphis, Michael Taylor (Ruth) of LaJunta, Colorado, David Taylor (Debbie) of Johnson City, Rusty Taylor (Gina) and Chris Taylor of Jackson, Kenny Workman (Nancy) of Lexington, Rodney Workman (Tammy) of Humboldt, Stacy Clark (Lee) of Dyer and Brian Workman (Deanna) of Jackson, Jennifer Humphrey of Murray, Kentucky and Steven Humphrey (Heather) of Springfield, IL. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, March 10. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Faye Workman.
