April Gail Thatcher

Mrs. April Gail (VanDyke) Thatcher, age 70 of Jackson, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Monday, May 27, 2024, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services for Mrs. Thatcher will be conducted on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 4PM in the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Callicoatt officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford Cemetery. 

She was born July 1, 1953, in Humboldt, TN; the daughter of the late Marvin William VanDyke, and Helen Jean (Taylor) VanDyke. April retired as an Optometrist with Walmart and was a member of East Trinity Methodist Church in Jackson. 

April is survived by husband, David Thatcher; mother, Helen VanDyke; sisters, Christyal VanDyke, Starr Wofford (Michael); brother, Tracy VanDyke; two grandsons, Nicholas Hughey, Cy Thatcher; nieces & nephews, Dustin Adams, Sierra Simmons, Autumn Ivy (Cody), Dylan VanDyke (Katie), Jordyn VanDyke (Courtney), and Shane Wofford. She was preceded in death by son, Collin David Thatcher; and father, Marvin William VanDyke. 

Honoring Mrs. Thatcher, grandsons, nieces & nephews will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 2PM – 4PM on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. April Gail (VanDyke) Thatcher.
